New full-time junior faculty members appointed in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto between July 1, 2010 and December 31, 2013 are eligible. The award will provide salary support to a junior clinician-scientist who undertakes a major time commitment to scholarly work and who shows evidence of those qualities so greatly admired by the late Dr. Graham – namely industry, enthusiasm, intellectual integrity and the promise of sound judgment in clinical academic practice. Applicants will have completed full training in clinical surgery and additional training in either full-time research or education to at least the equivalent of a Master’s level at the time of taking up the award, and will meet the requirements for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, full-time, in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto.
Applications will be reviewed by the Department Executive Committee.
This will be an annual award, renewable each year on the recommendation of the Departmental Executive Committee, for a maximum total of three year of support. Candidates may not hold another major personal support award concurrently. The amount of the award will be $25,000 per annum.
The deadline for receipt of applications is February 28, 2014. Application forms may be obtained from:
