Paediatric

Residents receive paediatric plastic surgery training at The Hospital for Sick Children. The plastic surgery service has seven clinical faculty and two research faculty.

The full spectrum of paediatric plastic surgery is done by this unit which has an international reputation. Dr. John Phillips is the Head of the Division and the other surgeons represent special interest in each of the areas of paediatric plastic surgery. Many children come under the combined care of other specialists along with the plastic surgeons. For example, considerable craniofacial surgery is done with the assistance to neurosurgeons and orthodontists. Microvascular reconstruction is carried out in cooperation with orthopaedic surgeons and general surgeons in particular.

The residents get exposure to community paediatric plastic surgery at St. Joseph’s Health Centre.
