Christine Novak is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery (Division of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery) and Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto and a Research Associate at the Hospital for Sick Children. She has a PhD degree (Medical Sciences), BSc (Physical Therapy) and MSc (Medical Sciences) from the University of Toronto. Dr. Novak is a member of the American Association for Hand Surgery (Affiliate Member), American Society for Surgery of the Hand (Affiliate member), American Society for Peripheral Nerve and Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She is a past President of the American Society of Peripheral Nerve and has served on the Board of Directors of the American Association for Hand Surgery and the Executive Committee of the University of Toronto Centre for the Study of Pain. She is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Hand Surgery and HAND. Her research focus is in the area of clinical outcomes and assessment of patients with musculoskeletal disorders, particularly nerve injury and compression and factors related to upper extremity disability. She has numerous peer review publications and book chapters published in this specialty and has presented at many national and international meetings.
