Dr. Wong graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine in 2006, and completed residency training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto in 2011. She then completed a 2-year fellowship in Pediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children, which included further training at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. She joined the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto as faculty in 2013, where her clinical focus is in pediatric cleft surgery and microsurgery.

Dr. Wong has a research program focused on the measurement of patient-reported outcomes in pediatric plastic surgery. She is completing at Ph.D. at McMaster University and is a Co-Investigator on an operating grant from the Canadian Institutes for Health Research supporting her thesis work. She has been awarded two other provincial and national grants for her work to date. The study involves the international development of the CLEFT-Q, a patient-reported outcome instrument for patients with cleft lip and/or palate.
