Dr. Wong graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine in 2006, and completed residency training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto in 2011. She then completed a 2-year fellowship in Pediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children, which included further training at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. She joined the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto as faculty in 2013, where her clinical focus is in pediatric cleft surgery and microsurgery.

Dr. Wong has a research program focused on the measurement of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in pediatric plastic surgery. She is the co-principal investigator on an operating grant from the Canadian Institutes for Health Research supporting the development of a new PRO measure that evaluates outcomes in patients with conditions affecting the face, FACE-Q Kids. She co-developed the CLEFT-Q, a PRO measure for patients with cleft lip and/or palate that is being used in 28 countries to date.
