Dr. Jamil Ahmad is the Director of Research and Education at The Plastic Surgery Clinic. His practice is primarily in aesthetic surgery. Dr. Ahmad is an assistant professor at the University of Toronto Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is the Director of the University of Toronto- Resident Aesthetic Surgery Clinic. He has privileges at the University Health Network, Women's College Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital. In 2016, he was given the Chair's Award by Dr. Chris Forrest for his contributions to the Division.

Dr. Ahmad completed his plastic surgery residency training at the Department of Plastic Surgery, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. In addition, he completed a fellowship in breast reconstruction at the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Ahmad is on the Board of Directors of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the largest professional society for board certified plastic surgeons specializing in aesthetic plastic surgery. He also serves as the Vice Chair of the ASAPS Annual Meeting Program Committee and Co-Chair of Premier Global Hot Topics. He has been awarded the Gaspar Anastasi Award, a President's Challenge Coin, and Best Panel Moderator The Aesthetic Meeting 2014 Award from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is the My Way section editor for Aesthetic Surgery Journal.

Dr. Ahmad has authored more than 100 articles and chapters in plastic surgery, including articles in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, PRS GO, Aesthetic Surgery Journal, the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Clinics in Plastic Surgery, and Seminars in Plastic Surgery. He has published significant work on rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation, breast augmentation, breast reduction, abdominoplasty, liposuction, labiaplasty, and patient safety during plastic surgery. He is co-editor of Dallas Rhinoplasty: Nasal Surgery by the Masters, 3rd Edition. This medical textbook is considered the definitive treatise on rhinoplasty. Most recently, he co-edited Secondary Rhinoplasty by the Global Masters, the only multi-specialty, multi-author textbook dedicated to revision rhinoplasty.

Dr. Ahmad has presented at international and national meetings, including the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (CSAPS), and the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS). He has been an invited lecturer in many countries around the world including the United States, Belgium, Brazil, Norway, Kuwait, Portugal, Turkey, and Iran. Currently, he is an ASAPS travelling professor. He is the Course Director of the Annual University of Toronto Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Symposium. In addition, he serves as faculty at the Annual Dallas Cosmetic Surgery and Rhinoplasty Symposia.
