Corporate Partnerships - A Strategic Priority
A corporate partnership is defined as a productive alliance between a non-profit organization and for-profit business based on shared values and vision. A corporate partnership is designed to develop and grow over time, resulting in increasing mutual benefit. Different types of partnerships can exist between non-profit and for-profit business partners varying in complexity and degree of commitment, and ranging from straight financial contributions to cause-related marketing to social enterprises.
With recent changes in the financial, social, and corporate environment, the traditional philanthropic fundraising model is not sufficient to meet the financial demands of non-profit organizations. The old philanthropic model is no longer viable as a sole source of revenue generation. In addition, corporate donors are demanding a greater return on their donations and seeking opportunities for mutual benefit when collaborating with non-profit organizations.
Cultivating new and strengthening current corporate partnerships is a strategic priority for the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. As a Division, we are interested in organizations that share our values of innovation, excellence, collaboration, respect, honesty, openness and transparency. We are interested in partnerships that include the following essentials considered critical for success:
(1) Identification of common organizational goals and objectives (ie, strategic alignment); (2) Identification and understanding of market forces for and against partnership; (3) Identification and understanding of the risks and benefits of partnership; (4) Development of partnerships that respect the legal and ethical responsibilities of the University of Toronto, and (5) Development of partnerships that are of mutual financial benefit.
The Division values its corporate donors and is committed to strengthening working relationships, ensuring an open, honest and transparent work environment, recognizing and thanking each of our corporate donors at every opportunity. The Division provides each donor with an annual donor report that highlights the details and impact of their gift.
Our Corporate Partners
The faculty, alumni and students in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery are grateful to all our corporate partners who continue to share in our vision for the future: to be an "international leader in plastic surgery research, education and clinical practice".
